CEA (Carcinoembryonic antigen) is a special protein found widely on cancer cells that come from certain parts of the digestive system, including stomach, liver, pancreas, and colon cancers, as well as lung cancer. Because CEA is mostly present on these cancer cells, it makes a good target for therapies that aim to attack cancer cells without hurting healthy ones.

CEA CAR-T therapy uses the patient’s own immune cells called T cells, which are genetically modified to recognize and attack CEA on cancer cells. These powerful CAR-T cells seek out and destroy the cancer cells, helping to shrink tumors and control the disease.
